The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Henry Ponder, 46, of the 100 block of Bataan Drive, Broadview, on Aug. 21 was arrested in the 4100 block of North Harlem Avenue on an outstanding Cook County warrant for public indecency, police said.

Ana Rosario Castro, 48, of the 2200 block of Laramie Avenue, Chicago, on Aug. 20 was charged with driving without a valid license and driving without insurance following an accident in the 4100 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said.

Leticia Ortega, 44, of the 2000 block of Kostner Avenue, Chicago, on Aug. 19 was charged in the 7600 block of West Lawrence Avenue with operating a car without a valid license and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said.

Juan Antonio Ramos, 19, of the 2100 block of Calvin Avenue, Berkeley, on Aug. 15 was charged with domestic battery/bodily harm in a parking lot in the 5000 block of North Cumberland Avenue, police said.

A window screen was sliced open at Northwest Lube, in the 2900 block of North Cumberland Avenue on Aug. 19.

A gas pump was reported damaged Aug. 15 when someone attempted to drive away from BP, in the 4800 block of North Canfield Road with the gas hose still attached to the car. Estimated damage was $1,100.

An animatronic Halloween decoration was reported damaged Aug. 15 by two juveniles who rode their bicycles into the item, situated at the front of Spirit Halloween in the 7100 block of Forest Preserve Drive.

The back windshield of a Mercury Mariner parked in the 4000 block of Osceola Avenue on Aug. 19 was reported broken with a landscaping brick.

A man reported to police on Aug. 19 that the payee on a money order that he made out for $635.18 was changed and deposited in another payee’s account.

A man reported to police on Aug. 14 that the payee on one check that he made out for $2,152.32 was changed and cashed at a bank.

Trifon Arvanitis, 49, of the 1200 block of Bonita Drive, Park Ridge, on Aug. 17 was issued a local ordinance citation for possessing/igniting fireworks near the 8300 block of Lawrence Avenue, police said.

A pair of boots was reported stolen Aug. 19 from Akira, 4104 N. Harlem Ave. Estimated value of the item was $99.

A 2009 Mercedes-Benz GL450, with a key fob in the center console, was reported stolen from the 8200 block of Carmen Avenue on Aug. 18.

Fourteen air fragrances valued at $107.86 were reported stolen from Walgreens, 4820 N. Cumberland Ave., on Aug. 17 by a man who placed the items in a shoebox that was in a plastic bag.

Women’s underwear, electric razors and four Xbox storage drives on Aug. 11 were reported stolen by a woman who put the items in a plastic bag and left Target, 4050 N. Harlem Ave. Estimated loss was $1,039.94.

A man reported to police on Aug. 22 that three checks made out to different payees for $2,051, $1,883.54 and $1,620 had been altered and cashed by another person.

The director of Municipal Consolidated Dispatch reported to police on Aug. 20 that two checks from the MCD account made out to different payees had been altered and cashed.

A purse on Aug. 16 containing keys and cash was reported stolen from a seat at Nordstrom Rack, 4250 N. Harlem Ave.
