The BMW 430i proves you don't need an "M" badge to enjoy a great blend of performance and luxury.

BMW has expanded its lineup by splitting the 3 Series up in the last few years. This saw the 3 Series Coupe line transform into the 4 Series. The 4 Series is designed to be a luxury coupe that you can comfortably cross the country in.

While the 4 Series from BMW is built for luxury, the motorsport heritage is still very much there. The 4 Series comes in a few different trims, including a motorsport package that’s definitely worth looking into. Although the different trims are mainly aesthetic, the 430i is available in an xDrive and Grand Coupe version as well. These variants offer added performance and more practicality for those who need it.

Interested in learning more about the BMW 430i Coupe? Here are 10 reasons why every gearhead should drive the BMW 4 Series 430i Coupe.

The 4 Series comes in a few different models. In the United States, you can get the 430i Coupe, 430i xDrive, and the 430i Grand Coupe. These models are based on the same internals but are packaged completely differently. The 430i is the baseline coupe while the 430i xDrive comes with an all-wheel drive that allows for better track performance.

The 430i Grand Coupe comes with more interior space for the rear seats and follows the design of a standard sedan. However, the 430i Grand Coupe incorporates the sportier design of the 4 Series. This makes the 4 Series Grand Coupe perfect for those who want the style and performance of the 4 Series but need more space.

The 4 Series comes in an xDrive version as well. This is BMW’s iconic all-wheel-drive system that allows drivers to send power to all four wheels in a dramatic fashion. The 430i xDrive pairs this with its powerful onboard management system to perfectly send power to the right wheel every time.

BMW also lets you add a few handling extras to your 430i xDrive to make it even more powerful on track. This is their $2,450 Dynamic Handling package that includes bigger brake discs, adaptive dampers, and a limited-slip differential. These features do add performance to the car but do not come with an upgraded powertrain to match. If you add this to the $3,800 M Sports Package, you may be better off splurging a bit more to get the M440i xDrive.

Despite there being three different versions of the 430i, all come with the same 4-cylinder engine from BMW. This compact engine is a 2-liter turbocharged engine that can produce 255 hp. The engine is not the most powerful on the market, but BMW adds efficiency and performance engine modes to help get the most out of it.

The 430i Coupe comes with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission that has both sport and manual shift modes. There are also paddle shifters attached to the steering wheel along with Launch Control for a sportier driving experience.

You can’t talk about the new 4 Series without mentioning the massive front grilles. These grilles are not new to the brand and pay homage to the Kidney Grilles featured on earlier BMW models. However, BMW did not shy away from this design and gave the entire 4 Series lineup a unique front end.

Love them or hate them, the front of the 4 Series is bound to turn heads. This unique design has been adapted for many other models in BMW’s range including the new M3 and even the X7. The rear of the 4 Series is more traditional, with sleek rear lights and rear exhaust pipes.

BMW has some of the most powerful engine management systems in the industry. The 430i and 430i xDrive both come with a wide range of driver modes to suit every occasion. This includes economical modes for fuel saving and sport modes for enhanced performance.

The new BMW 430i also comes with 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS, Dynamic Brake Control, and Cornering Brake Control. These innovative systems help you get all the performance out of the coupe whether you’re on the road or on track.

One of the most loved optional extras to add to your BMW is the M Sport Package. This package will set you back over $3,500 but is completely worth it if you’re looking for something a bit more aggressive than the standard 430i.

The M Sports Package includes an aerodynamic kit, 19-inch blacked-out wheels, and a Shadowline exterior trim. This line outlines the glass panels of the coupe, making the entire car look sleeker and more aggressive. The aero package includes a wider body kit that lowers the appearance of the car while also widening the side skirts of the car.

BMW is big on safety. The new 430i comes with a whole host of safety features to keep you comfortable on the road. This includes the standard driving aids such as Anti-lock braking but also includes modern technology such as park distance control and 360-degree cameras.

The 430i is a sporty coupe but is also designed for comfort and luxury. This is why BMW added various comfort features such as adaptive cruise control, adaptive LED headlights, and their new Active Driving Assistant. This includes frontal collision warnings, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warnings, and speed limit information.

BMW is one of the first cars to work with Apple on their digital keys. This innovative feature allows you to unlock your car with your phone, similar to the Tesla app. What makes this feature unique is that you’re able to securely give someone else a key via iMessage.

This is just one of the latest features to be added to BMW’s Connected Drive package. This also includes BMW Drive Recorder, Real-Time Traffic Information, Remote Engine Start, and automatic map updates.

The interior of the 430i is an absolute dream. The new 430i comes with plush leather seats and your choice of interior veneer. If you want a sportier look, you can opt for aluminum mesh finishing. This material gives off the same look as carbon fiber but is much more affordable.

The standard 430i comes with analog gauges and a touchscreen infotainment system. However, you can add the BMW digital dials if you prefer a digital screen behind the wheel as well. BMW’s digital dials shift depending on what driving mode you’re in but is not as clear as the Virtual Cockpit from Audi.

BMW has had one of the best infotainment systems for a very long time. However, modern infotainment software such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto makes the experience standardized between various car brands and models.

However, the infotainment system found in the new 430i comes with distinct features that set it apart from the competition. This includes a simple interface to let you interact with the vehicle’s settings. This allows you to alter the various settings of the car and even view all the cameras around the car. You can even view the entire car from above due to the onboard computing power of the latest iDrive system.
